Small Step #7 Now, go take on the day
No matter what your morning routine is, it should be something that centers you mentally, emotionally, physically. It needs to put you in a positive place to be ready to take on whatever your day holds for you.
Small Change #6: Mindset Matters
One of the most important A-HA! moments I’ve had on this journey was the day I realized I had been going about the business of getting healthy all wrong. Until then, I had been focusing on all the things I “had to do” in order to make the necessary changes in my life.
Small Change #5: Admire & Copy
I came across a Warren Buffet quote the other day that resonated with me. It said,
“Much of what you become in life depends on whom you choose to admire and copy.”
Small Change #4. Veggies: They’re not just for dinner any more!
What I discovered is that breakfast is a great time to get a jump start on getting those veggies in. Good decisions beget good decisions, beget more good decisions. When you begin healthy, you want to end healthy.
Small Change #3: Know Your Serving Sizes
If you’re like me, I didn’t know how much peanut butter I was using until I actually grabbed a tablespoon and measured it.
Small Change #2. You Snack it, You Track it
It seems like a lot of hassle to take time to record what you’ve just eaten or to track what you plan to eat at your next meal. But if done the right way, and by “right” I mean “easy,” tracking your food consumption can be a powerful wellness tool.
Small Change #1. But First, Coffee.
When I got serious about reading the ingredients of the food I was consuming, I took a closer look at what was in my morning cuppa joe.
Poco a Poco
I recall thinking that in the middle of the transition it seemed we’d never reach the goal. But suddenly, there we would be. After waiting and waiting, we would finally make it.
Baby-stepping the Way
Taking that first baby step made all the difference. It inspired another step and another. Soon, before I knew it, I had wobbled my way from the sofa to the coffee table and back and I was on my way to feeling more confident and self-assured about my wellness progress.
Are you prepared for the stormy seas?
The point is this: something will happen that tears our focus away from our daily healthy living. Living focused day by day until that time prepares us for those days ahead when we can’t.
